The Alatau City Authority special management organisation and Mindray Medical have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at developing modern medical infrastructure and digital healthcare, and at introducing artificial intelligence technologies in Alatau City.
During the talks, Alisher Abdykadyrov, Chief Executive Officer of Alatau City Authority, and Wu Hao, President of Mindray Medical, discussed promising areas of cooperation and the company’s potential role in shaping the healthcare ecosystem of the new city.
One of the key areas of cooperation will be work on the Medical City project. The concept provides for an integrated “Medicine – Education – Science – Digital” ecosystem that will bring together medical infrastructure, specialist training, research activity and modern digital technologies.
Under the memorandum, the parties intend to explore opportunities for cooperation in medical technologies, the equipping of medical facilities, the digitalisation of healthcare and the application of artificial intelligence. Particular attention is to be paid to training medical and technical specialists, holding joint research and educational events, and exchanging experience between organisations in Kazakhstan and China.
Looking ahead, Alatau City is considering the city’s potential as one of the centres of medical tourism in Central Asia. Its location next to Almaty provides access to medical universities, specialists and a research base, while building the city from scratch makes it possible to plan the engineering, transport and digital infrastructure required for large medical projects in advance.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to identify priority areas of joint work and to move on to developing specific initiatives under the signed memorandum.
