A delegation of the Alatau City Authority special management organisation is taking part in the business programme of the official visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Federal Republic of Germany. The visit is taking place on 28–30 September in Berlin and Munich.

At the centre of Alatau City Authority's agenda are attracting German investment and technologies, developing the industrial, engineering and transport and logistics infrastructure of Alatau City, and building long-term partnerships with leading German companies.

In Berlin, representatives of Alatau City Authority are taking part in meetings with the heads of leading German business associations and financial institutions, as well as in the Kazakh-German Business Forum. The business programme also includes separate talks with German companies on delivering joint projects in Alatau City.

One of the key areas of the talks is cooperation with WILO SE, one of the world's manufacturers of pumping equipment and systems for water management, engineering infrastructure and industry. The parties are discussing the creation of a regional service and engineering centre in Alatau City, with the potential to further expand the localisation of production, maintenance and the training of specialists for Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

In transport and logistics, Alatau City Authority is developing its engagement with Rhenus Group. The cooperation covers the development of Alatau City's warehouse and logistics infrastructure, the creation of a distribution centre and the expansion of logistics services for the city's residents and the enterprises of the Almaty agglomeration. The parties are also exploring opportunities to integrate Alatau City's logistics infrastructure with the Rhenus intermodal terminal at Baiserke station and with international transport routes.

Particular attention during the talks is being paid to attracting German engineering and technological expertise, as well as to new instruments for financing projects. With German and European partners, Alatau City Authority is discussing cooperation in industry, engineering infrastructure, logistics, digital technologies and financing.

“Germany has strong expertise in industry, engineering, logistics and infrastructure technologies. For Alatau City it is important to build long-term partnerships that provide for localisation, the transfer of technologies and skills, the creation of new production facilities and the training of specialists. We want German companies to see Alatau City as a platform for developing their business in Kazakhstan and entering the Central Asian market,” said Alisher Abdykadyrov, Chief Executive Officer of Alatau City Authority.

Alatau City is taking shape as a new business, technology and industrial centre of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Its priority areas include mechanical engineering, industrial automation, energy and energy efficiency, transport and logistics, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, medicine, education and modern agricultural technologies.

Alatau City Authority's business programme also extends to Munich, where the organisation's representatives are holding meetings with Bavarian companies and taking part in the Kazakh-Bavarian Technology Forum devoted to innovation and high technology.

Alatau City Authority's participation in the Head of State's official visit to Germany is aimed at promoting the investment potential of Alatau City on the European market, widening its circle of international partners and attracting advanced technologies for the new city's projects.
