A foundation stone laying ceremony for the Griffin Logopark Almaty logistics complex has taken place in Alatau City. The project by the international developer Griffin Partners will become one of the major facilities of the city's modern warehousing and transport and logistics infrastructure.
The ceremony was attended by Akim of the Almaty Region Shyngys Arinov, Akim of the city of Alatau Arken Utenov, Chief Digital and AI Officer of the Alatau City Authority special management organisation Bayan Konyrbayev, and representatives of the Alatau Special Economic Zone, Griffin Partners, the Eurasian Development Bank, IBC Real Estate and the project's partners.
The total area of Griffin Logopark Almaty will exceed 125,000 square metres on a 20-hectare land plot. The project will be delivered in two phases, each of about 62,700 square metres. The first phase is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2027.
The class A+ complex is designed for Kazakhstani and international companies and provides modern warehouse space with developed engineering infrastructure. The project is located in the immediate vicinity of key transport corridors: about 1 km from the Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD), 12.5 km from the freight railway station and 13.5 km from Almaty International Airport. Direct access to the A3 Almaty–Qonaev motorway is provided.
“Alatau City is taking shape as a modern environment for doing business, where investment projects should receive the necessary infrastructure and organisational support. Delivering Griffin Logopark Almaty will support the development of the city's transport and logistics potential, create conditions for Kazakhstani and international companies to locate here, and drive further growth in business activity. For our part, Alatau City Authority stands ready to provide the assistance needed to deliver the project,” said Bayan Konyrbayev, Chief Digital and AI Officer of the Alatau City Authority special management organisation.
In Alatau City, logistics is regarded as one of the significant areas of economic development. The city's portfolio currently comprises 67 projects.
